Last Day for Biden and Day 1 of Trump 2.0

Biden had a few last minute pardons on his way out. Some were surprised to see the amount of overreach he took even though it was within his legal right to throw these out like confetti.  What is really interesting is that he gave pardons to people that didn't have charges brought against them for "just in case" purposes.  My spidey sense says there is a lot of guilt being hidden there. One has to wonder if Biden even knew he was signing his name or if he thought he was just doodling during a particularly long meeting.

The list includes: 

Siblings and their spouses - James Biden, Sara Jones Biden, Valerie Biden Owens, John T. Owens, and Francis W. Biden. Apparently, they were under "unrelenting attacks and threats" because of politics, not because they might have done something... 

Biden also decided to play superhero issuing preemptive pardons for folks like General Mark Milley, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and the January 6 committee, including Liz Cheney. He used the excuse that he was going to shield them from Trump's incoming legal vengeance. Sounds more like they were worried about the lawfare that they inflicted on Trump, the only difference is the pardoned people are most likely guilty with evidence to support it.  

Now that the transition of power is complete, it is time to get to work.  Here are some of the highlights for day one: 

Border Security and Immigration: Trump has declared a national emergency at the southern border, directing the military to work with the Department of Homeland Security to secure it. Actions include finishing the border wall, declaring criminal cartels as terrorist groups, ending "catch and release" policies, and setting up mechanisms for mass deportations. 

Energy Policy: He has declared a national energy emergency aiming to boost domestic energy production, including actions like ending regulations on electric vehicle mandates, and focusing on Alaskan resources.  Drill baby drill is on the near horizon.  

Cultural and Government Operations: Trump has signed orders to undo policies related to gender identity, specifically recognizing only two biologically distinct sexes, and has plans to end various DEI programs. "Didn't Earn It" is a thing of the past as we focus on competence and skills.  He also aims to address government efficiency, including potentially reinstating the Schedule F executive order to reduce job protections for federal workers.

The above are just a few of the MANY changes needed to get this country on track.  We are in for one heck of a week!

And so, the curtain rises on Trump 2.0 - where history repeats itself, only this time with more walls, less diversity, and a whole lot of executive order ink. Buckle up, America; it's going to be a wild ride through the looking glass.
