8 Places to Escape and Recharge

Q. Lynn, do you know any places with good vibes to visit that will make you feel better just being there?

A. This was a fun one to ponder! I’ve come up with eight amazing places, plus a bonus, for when you need a mental, emotional, physical, or spiritual reset. Each spot has a unique way of leaving you refreshed and recharged. Some require some planning, and a few can be done in an afternoon depending on where you live. Enjoy!

  1. Green Bank, West Virginia, USA - Little to No EMF
Nestled in the National Radio Quiet Zone, Green Bank bans Wi-Fi and cell phones to protect its massive radio telescope, creating a rare EMF-free haven. Many say they sleep better and feel lighter there, as if the quiet resets their inner rhythm.
  2. Blue Mountains, Australia - Low EMF
Just outside Sydney, the Blue Mountains have eucalyptus forests and dramatic cliffs with minimal Wi-Fi or cell service. The crisp air and endless hiking trails invigorate the body and mind. It's a perfect escape.
  3. Yellowstone National Park, USA - Low EMF
Yellowstone’s wilderness with its geysers and wildlife has has spotty cell service and no Wi-Fi in most areas, letting you unplug (and recharge) completely. After connecting with the wilderness you may leave tired but spirits invigorated.
  4. Sedona, Arizona, USA - Vortex and Air Chemistry
Sedona’s red rock formations and energy vortices draw people seeking spiritual renewal. The ionized air from desert winds boosts mood, while the stunning vistas clear mental fog and ease emotional tension.
  5. Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa, Iceland
The mineral-rich lagoon soothes muscles and calms nerves. The silica-laden air feels cleansing and the remote setting with limited Wi-Fi keeps distractions at bay.
  6. Big Sur, California, USA - Due to Ionization
Big Sur’s wild Pacific coast fills the air with negative ions that lift your mood. The trails and lack of cell service make it easy to disconnect, recharging you physically and emotionally. People often feel vibrant energy.
  7. Shipwreck Coast, Australia - Due to Ionization and Low EMF
The Shipwreck Coast (home to the Twelve Apostles) combines ion-rich sea spray with tech-free beaches. The pounding surf energizes you, while the solitude of places like Loch Ard Gorge restores mental clarity and emotional calm.
  8. Kauai, Hawaii, USA - Due to Ionization and No EMF
Kauai’s Na Pali Coast, reachable only by hiking or boat, has waves that churn out mood-boosting ions and no Wi-Fi or cell service to intrude. Many say the island’s untouched beauty heals something deep inside.
BONUS: When funds are tight or schedules are packed, you don’t need a far-flung trip for a reset. Head out of the city and camp under the stars, hike through woods, wander a quiet park, or just sit by a stream with your phone OFF. Nature’s embrace works wonders anywhere, giving your mind, body, and heart a quick but powerful recharge. Even a few hours can feel like hitting a reset button on life’s chaos.

  1. I love this post! Funny how all these places are wifi/cell phone free some of which you can incorporate in your daily life by not always being tied to your phone or taking walks in nature. On this list I've only been to Sedona and it took me 30 years of wanting to go there to make it happen. Highly recommend! I think we all benefit from experiencing the energies of different places, Greece is also powerful,

  2. Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada right beside the waterfalls is my happy place. Always cleanses and recharges me mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
