Skeptics argue these "guidelines" aren't just about better science. They expand the pool of people labeled "at risk," opening the door to more prescriptions, including statins for cholesterol. (You see where this is going, right?)
Cholesterol isn't the villain it's often made out to be. Your body (and especially your brain) needs it for cell membranes, hormone production, and neurological function. Aggressively lowering it with meds isn't always the right move, especially when lifestyle factors like diet, exercise, and stress play such a huge role.
The bottom line, get your numbers checked, understand your personal risk, and prioritize natural ways to support heart and brain health. Meds may have their place for some, but they're not one-size-fits-all. Like I always say, do your own research.
Much Love, Lynn
