They are creating a searchable map of ordinary movement that never blinks and never asks permission. Thirty days of data sounds temporary until you realize the cameras are everywhere and the next thirty days starts immediately.
No one wants this except those making money from the data. People have started treating the poles like clay pigeons. They probably didn't expect the sheep to revolt. You can only push folks so far before they've had enough. I'm certain part of what we see is a test as to how far the line in the sand can be drawn.
