The US is supposed to be a representative democracy in which the people vote for the representatives, and the representatives speak for what the people want. What we have going on with AI and data center eruptions is something that the people do not want and no one other than the rich elites making money voted for. Nobody marched in the streets begging for AI to draft their emails, summarize their thoughts or slowly work it's way into their mind. AI is being forced onto work, school, customer service and government systems as if refusing it was optional.
