Pineapple Magic

The magic of pineapple lies in its  blend of natural compounds that can soothe a cough. At the heart of this fruit is bromelain, a powerful enzyme known for its anti-inflammatory and mucolytic properties.  It helps break down mucus and calm throat irritation. The fruit’s high vitamin C content boosts the immune system, supporting the body’s fight against respiratory infections that often cause coughing. While scientific evidence is limited, many swear by pineapple’s ability to ease cough symptoms naturally (myself included!). 

Below, I’ll share a recipe for a homemade pineapple cough syrup that harnesses these benefits. In a pinch, munching on chunks of fresh pineapple can offer quick relief, but if you have the time, this homemade mix is a fantastic addition to keep in your fridge for lasting comfort.
