Q. Copper mugs do offer real antibacterial benefits. Pure copper vessels can kill pathogens within hours via trace ion release. Some people also feel better digestion or overall wellness from leached copper (an essential mineral). With the evil elite padding pocket books, it is no surprise that most kitchens are full of plastic and glass cups as money isn't made on prevention.
Toxicity is a valid concern but highly unlikely with normal use. Copper does leach into drinks, especially acidic ones, however, symptoms (nausea, vomiting) typically require much higher exposure or repeated heavy intake. You'd need to consume an extreme amount like dozens of drinks daily over time to approach serious toxic risks. This is far beyond occasional sipping.
Bottom line, use common sense. Avoid leaving acidic/hot drinks for long periods of time and clean them regularly. They're generally safe without a hidden poison. There is indeed some health and antimicrobial effect. Carry on.
Much Love, Lynn

Thanks Lynn for this topic! Just to add to the benefits of copper,. Leaving water in a copper jug/glass for at least 6-8 hrs, will help copper infuse into it. Drinking one cup a day will increase your copper levels and help by pulling iron from your tissues and make it available to use if you have low levels. Also helps to reverse grey hair somewhat.
