Is This REALLY Where We Are?

In a society that claims progress and the rule of law, official advice now sounds like something from a third world country.  I mean phrases like don’t walk alone, carry only what you need and be ready to hand over your phone, purse, or wallet have become actual advice!!

These are recommendations given to residents of a major American city amid rising street crime. The message is clear.  Rather than deal with the problem, compliance is the safest route.

In what we still call a civilized world, robbery is treated as an inevitable transaction rather than a violation. A functioning society prioritizes prevention and consequences so people can walk freely. When authorities essentially say “just comply,” it signals that they have lost control.

How is it in your area of the world?  I hope much better than this.  Maybe the US should take lessons from Japan.

Much Love, Lynn
