Revitalize Your Smile: Natural Ways to Reverse Cavities

If you’re looking to naturally boost your teeth and enamel, it’s all about eating smart and keeping up with good oral habits. Eat foods like cheese, yogurt, spinach, salmon, and eggs.  They’re packed with calcium, phosphorus, and vitamin D, which help your enamel stay strong. You can also toss in some grass-fed butter or fermented foods for vitamin K2, which helps get calcium where it needs to go. Cut back or ideally eliminate sugary snacks and sodas since they feed the bad bacteria that mess with your teeth. Steer clear of acidic foods which break down the enamel.

Chewing xylitol gum can get your saliva flowing, which is awesome for neutralizing acids. Some folks swear by oil pulling with coconut oil to keep bacteria in check. Don't forget to drink plenty of non-fluoridated water to keep your mouth from drying out.  The goal is to keep a healthy saliva production which is one of the best defenses.

Now, if you already have tooth decay, you can reverse it before it turns into a cavity. Brush twice a day with something like hydroxyapatite toothpaste. Hydroxyapatite’s a natural option that works like your teeth’s building blocks. Don’t skip flossing either. It gets the gunk out from between your teeth. A mouth rinse with calcium and phosphate can help rebuild enamel too. Avoid snacking so your saliva gets a chance to do its job. Keep up with dental visits to catch problems early and get tips that fit your situation, but also do your research with healthy skepticism as they aren't immune to wanting a piece of the wealthcare system revenue as well.

I hope this helps give you some direction.

Much Love,
Lynn

  1. I have noticed that since I started carnivore, my teeth don't hurt like they used to and I don't get plaque buildup like I do with carbs. Also don't use toothpaste but make my own with just baking soda and peroxide.
