Hard Pass on Insect Flavoring

Always remember to check the ingredient list on the foods you buy.  Don't forget to occasionally re-check them from time to time too as many manufacturers are cutting costs and changing recipes in the process (more water, cheaper substitutes, etc).  If you see E120 (carmine/cochineal which is red dye) or E904 (shellac, the shiny glaze on candies and fruits), you're basically eating bug by-products.

These chemicals can be found in yogurts, candies, chocolates, gummies, even some juices and pills. Disgusting, right?  It is sad to think this is what has become of our food supply.

On a positive note, it is almost time to start prepping and planning your garden.  Even a few planters can make a difference in your health (and budget).

Much Love, Lynn
